About Me

Born and raised in San Diego, I've always loved being in nature—from the mountains of Cuyamaca and Laguna to La Jolla’s tidepools. As a child, I was drawn to animals in both real life and stories, a trait I've carried until today. I spent many afternoons watching The Lion King on VHS, drawing the characters while the screen was paused until I got the proportions just right. My imagination and creativity continue to be a core part of who I am and are infused into everything I do.

Here I am in all my late 1980s glory, feeding sunflower seeds to a squirrel duo. Today, I’ve traded the sunflower seeds for chicken and give treats to my bossy border collie/husky mix, Zuko.

My sense of adventure lures me to many new places, both domestic and abroad. In this photo I captured me, my sister, and my husband during a hike on the Isle of Arran, a small island off the coast of Scotland. In addition to photography,  I always bring a journal to document my experience whenever I travel. Writing for me is more than a skill; it enables me to paint a detailed picture without ever picking up a brush.
